It’s a Hydraulic Hybrid equipped Vintage 1968 Volkswagen Beetle. Top performance on wide-open highway is 25 miles per hour, which may not seem like much; but, did we mention the power plant is a 6 ½ horse-power lawnmower engine? A global hydraulics firm was impressed by the design of our pump. So much so, that they commissioned us to develop one for one of their key customers whose volume on an initial project alone will exceed 50,000 units. The United States Army has co-authored a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with us to scale-up the power train for use in its military transport vehicles. Our first mission is to convert a military HMWWV to Hydraulic Hybrid power train.  A worldwide leader in belts, hoses and hydraulic components has turned over the keys to their Hummer H1. They’ve given us the development funding and asked us to convert it to Hydraulic Hybrid power so they can use it as a rolling billboard. Partners and Relationships The Hybra-Drive business model includes relationships with successful partners. Some of those partners are: Top Hydraulics Firm—With whom HDS is developing a variable displacement, external gear pump for installation in one of its key customer's small earth movers. Gates Rubber Company—For whom HDS is upfitting a Hummer H1 with a Hybrid Hydraulic Power Train, the first of many vehicles Gates plans to purchase.
