Hybra-Drive Recognized as “Most Innovative”

February, 2007

Hybra-Drive Systems, LLC, Deerfield Michigan was awarded Most Innovative Product of the Year for 2006 by New Enterprise Forum (NEF) at its meeting held February 15, 2007.

A handsome commemorative plaque was awarded to company co-founder Jim O’Brien for development of a unique vehicle power train system.

The system is a hydraulic hybrid system that is conceptually similar to an electric hybrid, yet with many advantages over electrics. For example, where electrics store energy on-board in large banks of batteries, hydraulics store hydraulic fluid in light weight accumulator tanks.

Mr. O’Brien and his wife Sharon co-founded Hybra-Drive Systems in 2004 and have since entered development agreements with numerous notable companies including Gates Corporation and The U.S. Military.

NEF provides a networking forum that gives fledgling businesses like Hybra-Drive Systems the support they need to succeed. In addition to networking opportunities, their monthly meetings feature speakers who address various topics of interest to entrepreneurs. And each month, a new business makes a short “pitch” to any investor who may happen to be in the room.
